Planning and Zoning Commission

The Planning & Zoning Department of the City of Bay Saint Louis is committed to promoting orderly growth while protecting property rights and investment, environmental resources, social capital, health, safety, and welfare of its citizens. Our mission is to coordinate and facilitate the establishment of Bay Saint Louis comprehensive development plan, its implementation, and its review process. We strive to achieve this by fostering efficient use of infrastructure, enhancing the business climate, and consistently updating regulations and ordinances.

The Planning and Zoning Commission (P&Z) is a seven-member board of volunteers confirmed by the Bay St Louis City Council that is responsible for the review of variances, special exceptions, sketch plats and other development issues. The commission also makes recommendations to the Bay St Louis City Council. 

The Bay St Louis Planning and Zoning Commission meets the 2nd Wednesday of each month, unless noted otherwise at 5:30PM at 598 Main Street, Bay St Louis, MS. The Planning and Zoning Commission meetings is the public hearings for all the planning and zoning applications and are always open to the public.
