Thursday marked a momentous occasion for the City of Bay St Louis as shovels hit the ground to construct two anticipated public pickleball courts at McDonald Park.
Unlike conventional paving projects, the meticulous process involved in building pickleball courts, including the necessary concrete curing time for the playing surface, extends the timeline for completion. However, with dedication and precision, the courts are slated to be fully operational by the fall of 2024. This addition to McDonald Park will soon provide residents with a first-class venue to play the rapidly expanding sport of pickleball.
"Pickleball courts is something Bay St Louis has been talking about trying to construct to for a few years. The City Council and I have been looking forward to this moment, and I might have to get some pickleball paddles for myself. We appreciate everyone's patience during construction and look forward to seeing everyone out there enjoying the new courts soon." said Bay St. Louis Mayor Mike Favre.
Moran Hauling is the contractor for the McDonald Park Pickleball Court project.
