The Bay St. Louis Building Department will be completely converting to electronic operations through the My Government Online (MGO) customer portal effective Thursday, August 14. This conversion eliminates the use of paper forms, and all permitting, plans submitted, contractor licenses, and inspection requests will be accessible in a convenient online and mobile platform.

With MGO Connect, property owners and contractors will be able to:

  • Apply for ALL permits (building and tree pruning/removal permits)
  • Upload plans and documents for inspection
  • Apply for contractor licenses
  • Schedule inspections
  • Track permit status in real time

All of these may be done at any time and anywhere through the MGO Connect website at www.mgoconnect.org or through the MGO Connect mobile app available in the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

This upgrade represents a major step forward for how we serve our community.  Going digital means processing faster, accessing information sooner, and having a better overall experience. We are going online entirely and eliminating paper applications. Still, the Bay St. Louis Building Department committed to helping those who might need assistance in making the change.

To aid citizens and contractors during this transition, the City of Bay St. Louis will provide access to a computer workstation located in the lobby of City Hall, which the public can utilize during business hours. MGO Help Desk personnel will be available to help users navigate the MGO portal, establish accounts, or complete online applications, if needed.

New users can register for a free account at www.mgoconnect.org by selecting "New Account" and entering the information required. Existing users can log into the system with their current email address and password.

Technical support can be received by dialing the MGO Help Desk at 985-851-0760 or by emailing support [at] mygovernmentonline.org (support[at]mygovernmentonline[dot]org).

Thank you for your patience as we transition to MGO and online permitting.
